Flamboyant couple still living it up

Neither their legal nor business battles have impacted on Mpisanes’ money flow.

In April, the couple splurged on an extravagant 16th birthday party for their son Andile, featuring Babes Wodumo and award-winning rapper Nasty C, where they presented him with a MercedesBenz AMG G63 SUV, priced at R2.3-million.

Guests were treated to expensive drinks, a fancy menu, a sushi bar and a Louis Vuitton-inspired cake.

The flamboyant couple hosted a huge party last month to celebrate their daughter Sibahle’s umemelo (traditional coming-of-age ceremony). In attendance were first lady Tobeka Madiba-Zuma, Bheki Cele, Norma Gigaba as well as Sibahle’s ex-boyfriend Itumeleng Khune, who flew to Durban after a soccer match in Johannesburg . The party was held at the couple’s palatial home, which was recently renovated and now boasts amazing views of La Lucia.

A guest at the dinner party, which featured Khanyi Mbau, said magnums of champagne were flowing freely and that no expense had been spared for Sibahle’s ceremony. Sibahle runs a personal fitness franchise nationally.

“The Mpisanes don’t seem short of cash at all. They are always hosting parties, going out and driving flashy cars. In fact, they don’t seem to have a care in the world,” the guest said.

In 2011, Shauwn was criminally charged for VAT fraud and forgery relating to the 2008 tax year. However, the NPA withdrew the charges.
