Snowdance shows the moves
Captain Al filly returns from a lengthy break
There was a lot to like about the win of Snowdance in February in which the Captain Al filly quickened nicely to beat Rose In Bloom over 1100m at Kenilworth.
Rose In Bloom has subsequently come out to win two races and one of those was a feature race.
Justin Snaith has his yard flying at the moment and it will not be much of a surprise were Snowdance to prove better than her rivals today in Race 9, a FM 76 Handicap over 1400m.
Snowdance can expect some challenges from the likes of Elusive Heart, Fresnaye, Wine Festival and Amarillo Rose. Jockey Bernard Fayd’Herbe replaces jockey Greg Cheyne who rode the filly on debut.
Possible bankers at this meeting are Bid Before Sunset in Race 2 (BiPot), Orakal In Race 4 and Believethisbeauty in Race 5 and Aviatrix in Race 6.
The Snaith-Fayd’Herbe combination can get the ball rolling in Race 1 with Henry Tudor but their charge the filly Bid Before Sunset looks the better bet in Race 2.
This Pathfork filly has been runner-up in both her starts to date and is clearly well-suited to the course and distance of 1200m at Kenilworth.
Bid Before Sunset was only beaten 1.25 lengths by It Is What It Is on debut and then was caught just short of the line in her second start by the promising filly Still I Rise.
Jockey Aldo Domeyer has a few decent rides at this meeting and Orakal should go close to winning. The Oratorio gelding improved when stepped up to 1400m last time out and is likely to prefer the 1600m even more.
Domeyer is also on the consistent filly Aviatrix and has already won two races aboard her.
Trainer Vaughan Marshall is back among the winners and Believethisbeauty has the form to run very well in Race 5 and she may well break out of the maiden ranks.
