Seepe appeared biased on eNCA

-

eNCA has always prided itself on utilising analysts who leave you with food for thought.

On the same day Makhosi Khoza quit the ANC, eNCA interviewed Professor Sipho Seepe on the subject.

Seepe raised two issues which troubled me. The first was when he said “good riddance” to Khoza’s departure. Second, was the fact that he portrayed her as a power-hungry drama queen who’ll soon run out of publicity. He used Mosiuoa Lekota as an example of one of the people created by the media and said that the media promptly dumped him once he left the ANC. He claimed the same thing would happen to Khoza.

He forgot to mention Julius Malema who has continued to make himself relevant despite leaving the ANC.

Most of the issues Khoza has raised resonate with average South Africans frustrated by the ANC’s behaviour. Seepe will only discover the day the ANC is the opposition in parliament that Khoza’s departure was a tragedy for the ANC.

There’s no doubt that the current ANC leadership doesn’t want outspoken people like Khoza. They want “yes men” and “yes women”.

Khoza was the voice of the reason that the ANC failed to listen to.

As for eNCA, if it continues to invite questionable analysts, it could well find itself shunned by viewers.
