Elevated tops the boards

-

Elevated remains a weak 7-1 favourite for the R750 000 WSB Grand Heritage over 1475m at the Vaal on Saturday.

This Non-Black Type event is the only race in South Africa to contain more than 20 runners as 28 horses are carded to go to post for the valuable race.

To add some impetus to the meeting there will be a Pick 6 carryover of R1.5-million with the pool estimated to reach R4 million.

Mike de Kock-trained Elevated had a cracking good win on his Joburg debut and based on his earlier form in which he was not far behind the likes of William Longsword, Table Bay and Attenborough, the son of Elusive Fort could be hard to beat on best form.

Social Order, who probably needed his last start when fourth behind Tandava, is next best at 12-1. Prior to his defeat last time Sean Tarry’s charge won his previous two races with ease.

Port Elizabeth visitor Classify is on offer at 14-1 along with Zouaves, Amazing Strike, Count Tassilo, Forest Fox, Arctica and Secret Captain.

TAB will be paying out six places on the race and with a field of this size those dividends should be very tempting.

Current betting on the WSB Grand Heritage:

7-1 Elevated; 12-1 Social Order; 14-1 Amazing Strike, Classify, Zouaves, Count Tassilo, Forest Fox, Arctica, Secret Captain; 16-1 Maximizer, Yankee Captain, Trading Profit, Joey Piper; 20-1 Tandava, Hidden Agenda, Kings Archer; 25-1 Starrett City, Donny G; 33-1 Bold Viking; 40-1 Golden Man, Chili Con Carne, Street Flyer, Fellow Traveller, Orapa; 50-1 Rouge Allure, Vulcan, Morpheus; 66-1 Plum British.
