Tambo must be turning in his grave

-

The ANC declared 2017 “the year of Oliver Reginald Tambo”.

When I first heard about the declaration, I thought that the comrades would cherish, honour and emulate his leadership acumen.

Tambo was not an ordinary member of the ANC. He was a revolutionary, a gallant fighter, well-disciplined cadre, intellectual and strategist. Comrade Oliver was a unifier and loyal servant of his people and organisation.

During the year dedicated to Tambo, it is shameful and embarrassing to witness violence in voting processes, interdicted conferences and conferences declared unconstitutional, in particular in KZN.

I was dismayed when I saw chairs flying at the Eastern Cape elective conference. How can leaders become so senseless and brutal to their own organisation?

Several delegates got injured when fights broke out between two factions. Comrade Oliver must be turning in his grave seeing what is happening in the organisation he loved.

Comrades behave as if they are above the constitution of the ANC.

They have abandoned the customs and traditions of the ANC and replaced them with their selfish desires.

What is happening within the party is not what Oliver Tambo stood for. For ANC, the year 2017 was the year of chaos, corruption and mismanagement.
