“If we want to win games we can’t be conceding goals the way we have been doing. There is a lot at stake and they are under pressure to perform. At least when we don’t concede, it gives us a chance to score and win the game.”

Bafana will likely line up with either combination between Robyn Johannes, Motjeka Madisha, Clayton Daniels or Morgan Gould.

While the former Leeds United captain prefers the pairing of Gould and Madisha, Baxter could partner Gould with Daniels, whom he has worked with before at SuperSport United.

“What worries me is the pace between the two. Morgan should partner Madisha because I feel that would be the best comb ination. S tuart is having a hard time getting the defence right,” Bafana added.

“We need our senior players to step up and take the game by the scruff of the neck. We need to go all out because I don’t see why things are not going well because we have a great squad.”

In terms of fullbacks, Baxter is likely to continue with Sifiso Hlanti at left back ahead of Tebogo Langerman.

Newcomers Thamsanqa Mkhize (Cape Town City) and Reeve Frosler (Bidvest Wits) are battling it out to start at right back with regular starter Ramahlwe Mphahlele injured. the legend
