Pitso happy to be playing Chippa away

Tricky hosts could spoil Downs’ record

- By Gomolemo Motshwane

Mamelodi Sundowns will hit the road in pursuit of their bread and butter when they visit Chippa United tomorrow.

While they have struggled to perform at home, Masandawana’s five wins this season have come on the road.

Sundowns are just one win away from catching up with Absa Premiership log leaders Baroka.

Downs have three games in hand and have accumulated 15 points from their eight games.

Mosimane has downplayed their advantage as they are not guaranteed points in those games.

“They don’t work ... those games in hand. Last year I had three and I lost the league. Those things jinx me. We have to keep going and try to win,” Mosimane said.

Chippa eliminated them from the Telkom Knockout last month. Mosimane is wary of a repeat but their away record in the league makes him optimistic.

“We are playing Chippa who are a very good team. They beat us in the Telkom Knockout, so we have to respect them,” Mosimane added.

“What’s good is that we are on the road. The road has been brilliant, 100%. Let’s go to Chippa. When you go on the road people [opponents] play.” (3.30pm unless stated)
