YoTV star Lwando Mbelu is leaving the show after three years.

The 23-year-old told Sowetan that he was leaving to pursue other interests, like acting and radio.

Mbelu is set to say his goodbyes tomorrow.

The young presenter pointed out in a statement that it was necessary for him to leave the show for his personal growth.

“My YoTv experience will ever be treasured in my heart. I am truly grateful for the opportunity. My biggest highlight was entertaining the TV fans.”

Mbelu, from Lusikisiki in Eastern Cape, said his journey had been tremendous and filled with emotions. He added that he was grateful for the opportunity he got because he was able to meet many inspirational people.

“I have travelled to so many places and achieved things that I would never have imagined as a boy from the dusty streets of Lusikisiki.

“It has been a dream come true for me and it is time for me to go see what else the world has to offer.”

Mbelu said he did not see himself only as a TV presenter but as an all-round artist.

Akhumzi Jezile, series producer for the show, said: “Lwando has done well for himself and the brand. We are very sad to see him leave but we have no doubt that he will succeed in the entertainment industry.”
