Zuma and cronies must leave now

-

In my view, it is unfair to recall President Jacob Zuma alone as there are other people in his cabinet who are alleged to have been captured by the Guptas.

There is also a narrative that if Zuma is recalled, the ANC will be more divided. I do not think so because the Zuma/NDZ slate would not want to lose their “lucrative” cabinet positions and they do not have a capacity to form their own political party, because they have been discredited.

Should they form their own party, I doubt they could muster one seat in parliament. Perhaps they can get more seats in KZN, their stronghold.

In my opinion, Zuma must be recalled immediately to stop him from “stealing” and damaging the ANC. If Cyril Ramaphosa wants to clean up the party, then he should also fire those who assisted Zuma to sell the country to the highest bidder. To recall Zuma alone will not help the ANC much in the 2019 elections.

There is an allegation from KZN that if Zuma is recalled, they are not going to vote for the ANC in 2019. To you – ANC KZN chairman Sihle Zikalala and your supporters – you can keep your votes, but the ANC will win the elections. By the way, Zulus only started voting for the ANC in big numbers in 2009 after Zuma became president of the ANC in 2007.

It would be stupid and naive for Zikalala and his cheerleaders not to vote for the ANC because Zuma has been recalled or there is no one from KZN to vote for. Zikalala et al bet on the wrong horse in the elective conference. If they were not blinded by greed and hatred, they would have rallied behind Senzo Mchunu and he would be in the top six.
