Arrows target Urban Warriors in title decider

KZN side need win to be crowned champs again

- By Sihle Ndebele

The MultiChoice Diski Challenge (MDC) title could be decided tomorrow. If leaders Lamontville Golden Arrows win against second-placed Ajax Cape Town at Ikamva Stadium, they will be crowned champions for the second time.

Arrows, the 2015/16 reserve league champions, are on 28 points and a victory over Ajax will put them on 31 points with only two matches to spare.

The young Urban Warriors are five points behind Abafana Bes’thende and if they fall short they can’t reach 31.

Influential Arrows midfielder Thabani Zuke has urged his teammates to stay focused and not get ahead of themselves ahead of their trip to the Mother City, saying they must not think about what will happen if they win.

“We must stay focused. We know that we have a good chance to win the title but that must not get us carried away before the game. We must not put pressure on ourselves, but take it game by game,” Zuke told Sowetan yesterday.
