The winners and losers...

survival hopes.

The Urban Warriors find themselves in the relegation zone, but the acquisition of Tendai Ndoro, Yannick Zakri and Fagrie Lakay couldn’t have come at the right time.

The trio is already off the mark in terms of scoring goals.

Pirates left it until late, but mention Xola Mlambo and Augustine Mulenga, then their supporters can’t contain themselves.

Chippa, as always, were one of the busiest teams in the market and some of their new signings have already shown their capabilities.

Linda Mntambo, who joined from Jomo Cosmos, has already won three man of the match awards.

Add Mxolisi Macuphu, Fares Hachi, Thabo Rakhale and Bantu Mzwakali to the mix, then the Chilli Boys are looking pretty good. There were also losers. Cape Town City lost some good players in Lehlohonolo Majoro and Ngoma, who went to Bidvest Wits and Sundowns respectively.

The ball is now in the court of players like Surprise Ralani to prove they can step up the plate.

On the other hand, Maritzburg United lost new signing Bokang Tlhone to injury, while William Twala may take some time to get going, considering he’s only played six matches this season.

The Team of Choice also lost reliable defender Denis Weidlich to Wits. Struggling Platinum Stars could have done better considering they face the relegation axe.

Letsie Koapeng, Zama Rambuwane, Ayanda Gcaba, Riyaad Norodien and even Gerald Phiri Junior are good players, but they haven’t played much this season.

Can they hit the ground running? Only time will tell.

AmaZulu only signed a couple of players and one of them is Camaldine Abraw, whose statistics leaves a lot to be desired.
