High-flyer Siya Mqulwana is a top marketer at a Gruppo Campari, a leading Italian beverage company with a world-wide portfolio of more than 50 premium liquor brands such as SKYY Vodka, Glen Grant, Cinzano and Campari.

What does your job entail?

I negotiate key accounts clients in the Gauteng region including wholesaler­s, retailers and grocers who stock up our beverages.

How did you develop your passion for whisky?

I travelled a lot across the world especially, to the UK where the drinks culture is advanced; that’s where I learnt my passion and travelled to the distilleri­es in Scotland. The Advanced Cocktail Culture programmes also exposed me to my favourite drinks.

Which portfolio of drinks are you responsibl­e for?

SKYY Vodka, Glen Grant, Aperol, Bulldog Gin, Frangelico liqueur, Cinzano, Appleton Estate Rum, Bisquit Cognac, Wild Turkey, Grand Marnier and American Honey.

Who is the target market for your drinks?

Male and female, trendy, mature, outgoing, social and vibey – depending on the kind of brand and the occasion.

How do you want consumers to appreciate your brands?

Glen Grant on the rocks or with a drop of water. Cinzano Pro Spritz paired with savoury finger foods like focaccia and bruschetta. Bulldog Gin with tonic. Bisquit Cognac served neat in a heated balloon cognac glass.
