Keep fighting, graduating does not guarantee a job

-

I am writing this letter to all new graduates. Congratulations on your achievement. This is proof that through commitment, people can succeed in what seemed destined to be certain failure.

At the same time, as you celebrate, bear in mind that the world of employment is a jungle: you can eat or be eaten.

Unemployment is real and can deter your hopes and dreams if you are not mentally strong.

Also keep in mind that there will always be people who say: “They have graduated, let us see if they will gain employment.”

Do not be discouraged by people’s negative sentiments because all employed people you see today were once unemployed.

Patiently continue your search for a job and also offer yourself to volunteer if needs be, just to gain experience.

Sooner or later, you will smile and even forget that it was once an uphill climb. Nothing beats the incredible power of a positive attitude. Follow the footsteps of those who have made it against all odds, nobody said it was going to be easy.

As much as we live in a country characterised by a high number of unemployed people, have faith in yourself.

Keep on trying, life will open doors for you, doors you were not even aware exist. Malphia Honwane Gottenburg eManyeleti
