SA security officials not resourceful

-

In South Africa, our security forces are nothing but paper tigers.

Why did the security agencies waste fuel and time just to attach Guptas’ possessions, including a private jet, super cars and a helicopter in a joint operation by Hawks, SA Revenue Services and the National Prosecuting Authority? (Sowetan April 17 2018).

At the time when the Gupta gang and ex-president Jacob Zuma were engaged in their corruption, the security agencies were sitting and relaxing, doing nothing.

I strongly believe that the sources of information under state security intelligence and crime intelligence were surprised at why their handlers were not tasking them to gather information about the Guptas and Zuma.

The bodyguards of Msholozi were going to give good information, on condition that the handlers would make their pockets “very fat” with cash.

But now, due to the current corruption in our country, who is prepared to risk his/her job or life and do surveillance on the Guptas?

If we were operating like the CIA, FBI, MI5 or Mossad, we could have long put Zuma and his bosses, the Guptas, behind bars by now.

Now, because our security system is working on blackmailing one another, we shall always be marking time as if we are amateur security investigators.

We, in SA, shall never reach international standards as long as we still allow experienced and competent healthy officers to go on retirement, whether their time is up or not.

The transferring of useless and incompetent officers to other bases will never change them to what they are not. Those ey should be encouraged to go on early retirement.
