DA’s hypocrisy exposed by Aucamp’s qualifications lie
The fraud scandal around former Tshwane chief of staff in the office of the mayor, Marietta Aucamp, should be an example of how not to preach what you can’t even get right yourself.
The DA has been very vocal on only hiring competent and able individuals in key positions of governance.
They have been very quick to open fraud cases against individuals who they claim abused state resources, but now that they have been exposed as not being prudent in their hiring processes they have gone silent on this matter.
Obviously, Aucamp lied in her CV, otherwise she could not have been hired into such a position without proper qualifications, if proper due diligence was followed.
Mayor Solly Msimanga first said that he was not part of the panel that interviewed Aucamp, and when it was proven that he was, he changed his tune saying he will resign if he is found to have been negligent in the whole saga.
Aucamp and Msimanga must not be allowed to get away lightly from this mess. She must return all the money she earned and Msimanga has to explain how this happened under his watch if he is a competent leader?
Meanwhile, mainstream media has been harsher on some people, such as Danisa Baloyi and Pallo Jordaan, while quick to accept the explanations of others such as Nico Bezuidenhout and Aucamp, when they are caught lying about their qualifications.
