Brilliant Khuzwayo has pledged to fight for the Orlando Pirates number jersey after confirming a long-awaited move Bucs yesterday.

Goalkeper Khuzwayo has signed for Bucs after turning down a contract renewal with their rivals Kaizer Chiefs due to lack of gametime.

The 28 year old is determined to fight for a starting berth. “All I’m asking for is an opportunity to play,” said Khuzwayo in an interview with MetroFM radio last night.

“I believe I should show the coaches that I’m a hard worker, dedicated to the team, then they can decide whether I should play.”

Khuzwayo played second fiddle to Itumeleng Khune at Kaizer Chiefs, but revealed he had in the latter years pleaded with then Amakhosi coach Steve Komphela for some gametime. “I asked that I be given a chance in cup matches, but that didn’t happen.Obviously any player wants to play every game, and if it doesn't happen you're unhappy.”

Khuzwayo, meanwhile, denied he was now dating singer Babes Wodumo (real name Bongekile Simelane) after pictures of the duo looking cosy recently made rounds on social media. “Babes is a friend. I’m more of a big brother to her,” he claimed.
