I was heartbroken to read about Mike “Mazurkie” Phahlane’s life and death. I never thought he was an ex-journalist. I often saw him roaming the streets of Joburg, rummaging through dustbins, looking for food. Maybe the print houses will honour him in some other ways. May God forgive me if I ever wronged Bra Mike. May his precious soul rest in peace. – Oriah Makgothu Choshane

Cheated for loving Sowetan

At a Sasol garage shop near the N4 in eMalahleni, I paid for a copy of Sowetan with a R10 note and was given R3.50 change. When I asked why I was being overcharged, the cashier said: “We’re doing you a favour by selling this Gauteng newspaper here.” – William Jabu Mashego, Hlalanikahle

Expropriation for cronies

How will expropriation of land without compensation stop the ANC from giving farms and properties to cronies? – Lindokuhle, GaRankuwa

What’s Thohoyandou’s fault?

The PSL is unfair to Black Leopards by not allowing them to use Thohoyandou Stadium. What about Makhulong , Milpark and other stadiums which are no better than Thohoyandou? PSL, stop the favouritism. – Calvin
