Festival for entire family

Annual event brings young, old together

Lira, Mafikizolo, Mi Casa, Oliver Mtukudzi, Selaelo Selota, Kunle Ayo and Candy Tsamandebe­le will headline the second annual Nubian Music Festival in December.

Taking place on the long weekend of December 14 to 17, the festival will once again stage family friendly entertainm­ent at Hartbeespo­ort Dam’s Eagle Waters Wildlife Resort.

Also included in the starstudde­d line-up for the main festival on December 16 will be Gugu Shezi, Donald, Afrotracti­on and Encore.

Revellers can also enjoy chalet and camp accommodat­ion with access to pools, fishing facilities, water sports as well as the lion and cheetah parks, zoo and the elephant sanctuary.

When the night falls, they will be treated to a picnic movie under the stars.

To wrap up the weekend festivitie­s in style, on December 17, Nubian Music Festival package ticket holders will be treated to a champagne breakfast on a boat.

In addition, while the parents will be enjoying all the entertainm­ent, the younger members of the family will be catered for in the play zones to keep them busy.

“Come and enjoy the stunning views of the Hartbeespo­ort Dam and the Magaliesbe­rg mountain range which offers beautiful scenery and breathtaki­ng views,” Mpho Mathope, Nubian Music Festival creator, teases.

General access tickets cost R300 and VIP tickets will set you back R1 250 at Computicke­t. The festival will also feature musical legends Caiphus Semenya and Tsepo Tshola.

Last year, the festival launched with a stellar line-up of Selota, Ringo Madlingozi, Tumi Tladi, Bhudaza, Wanda Baloyi, Femi Koya, Semenya and Tshola during the same long weekend.
