Mokoena stunner helps spear Arrows
SuperSport leap to sixth place on log
Teboho Mokoena scored a wonderful winning goal as SuperSport United snatched a 3-2 win over Golden Arrows at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium yesterday.
United leapt to sixth place in the Absa Premiership, having secured a win that had looked unlikely after they had thrown away a two-goal lead to allow Arrows back into the game. SuperSport swept into an early lead thanks to headed goals by Evans Rusike and Mxolisi Machupu. But Arrows mounted a stirring comeback in the second half, Lennox Mutizwa and Seth Parusnath scoring to draw them level. It was left to Mokoena, with a chipped goal from range, to clinch a much-needed away win for Kaitano Tembo’s men. Elsewhere, Baroka and Celtic drew 2-2 in Polokwane.
