Penny Penny fired up for AKA roast
High-profile panel promises African viewers fireworks
The original king of bling Penny Penny is set to show flashy rapper AKA who is boss.
The Limpopo musician-turned-politician joins the high-profile crew that will roast the Fela in Versace hitmaker next week.
Vixen Moonchild Sanelly and comedian Joey Rasdien will also join the panel that includes previously announced stars Mark Fish and Nina Hastie.
“I’ve had my fair share of being roasted on social media in the past which makes me more than ready to be on panel. I will be bringing my Tsonga bling and flair to set the stage on fire,” Penny Penny says.
Rasdien teases: “Maybe I can bring Bonang and Cassper Nyovest to join on the panel and then we’ll have a real bonfire.”
Nigerian megastar Davido and presenter Moshe Ndiki complete the star-studded list.
“This is going to be a hilarious night. I’m ready. Africa are you ready?! This is a Roast so nothing is off limits,” Davido says.
Ndiki adds: “This will be a platform for me to query aspects of how AKA believes he is the first guy who invented blonde hair in December.”
The Roast of AKA will be filmed at Montecasino, Johannesburg, on Thursday, February 21.
Leading lady Pearl Thusi will be the first female “Roast Master” on the continent; following in the footsteps of her predecessors Gareth Cliff and British comedian Jimmy Carr.
