TS Sporting lead reinforce rush
NFD teams raid transfer market
With Mbombela-based TS Sporting emerging as the busiest GladAfrica Championship club on the current transfer window, Sihle
Ndebele looks at some of the eye-catching done deals in the second-tier as the January transfer window has just rolled pass its halfway mark.
TS Sporting
Sporting have made seven signings. Former Orlando Pirates ace Sifiso Myeni and Jemondre Dickens, who’s on loan from Baroka, headline the list of the new arrivals.
Frank Motebejane (from Golden Arrows), Kaonga Chawanangwa (from Mozambique’s Costa do Sol), Shadrack Kobedi (on loan from Blom Celtic), Madoda Motha (from Baberwa) and Thulani Cele (on loan from AmaZulu) are other Abantu Bomthetho’s new recruits.
JDR Stars
The league’s newbies from Tshwane have strengthened their squad with Nkosinathi Ononogbu Onyedikachi, who joined from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila. Sibusiso Mbonani
has also linked-up with JDR from TTM.
Richards Bay
The Natal Rich Boyz have secured the signature of Khanyisa Mayo from strugglers Royal Eagles. Other Richards Bay’s new signings are Sduduzo Dlamini (from AmaZulu), Ian Chikowa and Msekeli Mvala, (both ex-Pretoria University), alongside Simphiwe Mbatha, who previously played for Real Kings.
Uthongathi
The Cane Cutters raised eyebrows by snatching retired exBafana Bafana striker Siyabonga Nomvethe, forcing him out of retirement. Another exBafana star in Thanduyise Khuboni has also been signed by Uthongathi.
Tshakhuma
The ambitious Venda side has signed wayward attacking midfielder Masibusane Zongo.
Kings
Zairon Abrahams has joined the KZN side on a six-month contract, from TS Galaxy.
Steenberg
Joining them from Eagles, the rookies have snapped up former Maritzburg United defender David Booysen, who’s the younger brother of AmaZulu’s Mario Booysen.
Eagles
In replacing their top-scorer Mayo, Eagles managed to get former Celtic attacker Mpho Maruping from Sporting.
AmaTuks
Pretoria University have bolstered their roster with former SA U20 keeper Dumisani Msibi from Richards Bay.
