Kaizer Chiefs’ midfielder Edson Castillo has returned from two friendlies with the Venezuelan national team in the USA, including coming on as a substitute against Italy, but will not play against Cape Town City on Saturday. He is suspended for the trip along with fellow midfielder Yusuf Maart.

Manchester City expect Kyle Walker to be fit for their title showdown with Arsenal on Sunday. Walker suffered a hamstring injury against Brazil on Saturday and withdrew from the England squad ahead of Tuesday’s friendly against Belgium. City are also expected to have Kevin De Bruyne available after he pulled out of the Belgian squad due to a groin injury. He was pictured in training with City on Monday and looks set to be available for the weekend.

Several senior Birmingham City stars missed manager Gary Rowett’s first training session due to injury. Rowett was parachuted in last week to save the club from relegation to League One after it was confirmed that Tony Mowbray will step aside to recover from medical treatment. None of Krystian Bielik, Marc Roberts, Siriki Dembele, Keshi Anderson, Alex Pritchard and Lukas Jutkiewicz participat­ed in Rowett’s first training session.

Cape Town City skipper Thamsanqa Mkhize makes a timely return from suspension for Saturday’s clash against Chiefs. He is expected to return to his role at right back in place of youngster Patrick Fisher with another veteran Marc van Heerden on duty on the left.

Atlanta United centre back Stian Gregersen sustained a meniscus injury to his left knee and will be unavailabl­e for Saturday’s match at home to Chicago Fire, who have skipper Xherdan Shaqiri, the Swiss internatio­nal midfielder, back from internatio­nal duty.
