Put your thinking cap on, it’s Science Expo time
SOUTH CAPE It is time for the annual Eskom Expo for Young Scientists again.
This year the regional judging in the competition will take place on 11 August at Point High School in Mossel Bay. The expo is an annual international science and technology competition for school children. Learners are encouraged to put on their thinking caps now and be creative and imaginative, coming up with wonderful solutions or physical contraptions.
All schools in the Eden and Small Karoo area are encouraged to participate, which culminates in the national exhibition where participants who will compete internationally are chosen.
The purpose of the expo is to give learners an opportunity to exhibit their scientific research activities. They discuss their research with the judges, fellow exhibitors and visitors. Learners participate in various categories and age groups.
The exhibition of learners’ entries in the Point High School hall will be open to the public from 14:30 to 17:00 and the prize giving, also in the hall, will be held at 17:00 on the same day.
