Suspect arrested for drug possesion

Sgt Danville Prins and R/Const Deon Booysen of the local police received information on Friday 3 August at 20:40 that there are drugs at a house in Fynbos Avenue, Gouritsmond. The premises were searched and four half Mandrax tablets and six quarter Mandrax tablets were found in the possession of the suspect, who was arrested and appeared in the Riversdale Magistrate court on Monday 6 August. “The members' quick reaction on the information led to a successful arrest, and the combatting of drugs in our town,” said Sgt Ciska Badenhorst, media spokesperson.
