ASCENDIS Health has appointed Clifford Sampson acting MD. He holds local and internatio­nal qualificat­ions, including an MBA from Henley, and has more than 30 years’ experience in the fast-moving consumer goods industry.

Previous roles include nine years as MD of National Brands, and the past seven years as MD of Foodcorp.

Karsten Wellner, the CEO of Ascendis Health, said: “We are delighted to welcome Cliff to our team . . . he brings a wealth of relevant operationa­l experience and leadership.” NIKKI Temkin has been appointed editor of The Media magazine.

Sandra Gordon, CEO of Wag the Dog Publishers, said: “Nikki is a seasoned profession­al with impressive experience as an author and as a multidisci­plinary writer who has worked across print and online as well as cohosting her own radio show on Radio Today.”

Temkin said: “I plan to broaden the scope of the magazine to include book publishing, music and all other aspects of the media. Radio, magazines, television broadcasti­ng and digital publishing will also be covered to a greater extent.” TBWA\Digital Arts Network’s executive creative director Kabelo Moshapalo has been appointed to the board of Johannesbu­rg-based TBWA\Digital Arts Network in Africa.

Moshapalo first entered the digital industry in 2000 at FCB Electric Ocean and was later appointed group head digital interactiv­e. He became creative director digital interactiv­e before moving to MESH as creative director. Before taking a senior position at TBWA\Tequila, he was creative director at Hello Computer.

Moshapalo has a 15-year track record in executing creative digital marketing. GLOBAL exhibition­s company Fiera Milano has appointed Heidi Warricker general manager of Fiera Milano Exhibition­s Africa.

In addition to managing the company’s South African exhibition­s, including the Good Food & Wine Show (in Cape Town, Johannesbu­rg and Durban), Food Hospitalit­y World Africa and the Cape Town Art Fair, Warricker will be spearheadi­ng the company’s expansion into the African market.

Warricker, a Rhodes University journalism graduate, joined the industry in 1996. She has staged more than 40 large consumer and trade exhibition­s.
