SAA’s Myeni owes pilots an apology

-

TO say I was incensed by “Myeni’s fly-by-wire antics put morale at SAA into free fall” (November 22) would be an understatement.

All that is happening at SAA is pure racism. Unless all the crew on a passenger plane clearly understand that the captain is “The Captain” and in charge of all aspects of the aircraft and flight, there is bound to be an incident at some time or another.

In my opinion, the best way to sort this out is for the pilots to declare their intention to strike unless Dudu Myeni apologises for her remarks and treats the pilots with the basic dignity that all employees are entitled to.

I also hope that, after reading this article, the public will think very carefully before flying with SAA. — Allan Hodgson, by e-mail SLAG off white SAA pilots as much as you like, Dudu Myeni — but they keep you flying.

How dare you belittle these fine men who keep flying when you are so openly hostile to them? You are just the most disgraceful excuse for an SAA chairwoman.

You have no experience of the training these men have had, and if they’re well paid for the job, that’s how it should be. They carry people’s lives in their hands on takeoff and touchdown. — S Schumann,

Springs I HAVE to applaud Dudu Myeni for taking on the SAA Pilots Association.

I was a flight attendant for 10 years with SAA. The majority of them are a bunch of racists who think they have the world at their feet.

It is time taxpayers stopped funding their huge salaries. It is also evident that they have no confidence in the

government of this country. —
