PUBLIC relations agency MarcusBrewster has appointed Andre Fourie MD.
Fourie joined the agency in June last year as strategic communications director, after working in senior positions at several Cape Town consumer, business-to-business and technology PR agencies.
Fourie said the agency “has transformed the South African PR industry by pioneering new models of PR delivery”.
Chairman Marcus Brewster said: “Having tracked the fortunes of the PR industry’s young leaders, I can confidently say that Andre Fourie is the smartest guy in the room.”
ULLA Murphy has joined pan-African law firm Bowman Gilfillan Africa Group as a partner in its Johannesburg tax practice.
She comes from Absa, where she was the Africa head of wealth investment and insurance tax. She specialises in providing advisory tax services, with particular emphasis on the financial services sector.
Murphy, a chartered accountant who has a BSc and a BCom from the University of Cape Town, began her career in 2001 with Deloitte, where she spent eight years.
Her experience includes advising on technical tax issues and restructurings.
EXPLORATION company Minergy has appointed Andre Bojé as its CEO.
Bojé has more than two decades of experience in the South African coal industry. The accountant co-founded the coal trading company Chandler Coal in 1997, which was later listed on the JSE as Wescoal Holdings.
He remained CEO of the company until last year.
Claude de Bruin, executive director of Minergy, said of Bojé’s arrival: “His expertise and knowledge of the coal market is vast and we believe that he will add tremendous value to our Southern African investment projects.”
