JUNIOR Achievement South Africa, a nonprofit organisation affiliated with JA Worldwide, has appointed Nelly Mofokeng MD.

JA South Africa’s programmes aim to stimulate entrepreneurial interest among young people through mentorship, skills development, education and partnerships with companies.

Mofokeng said: “I am fortunate to have built a career in an industry that I am incredibly passionate about. Since I started at JA South Africa, I have worked with people who always saw the best in me.”

As a programme graduate herself, Mofokeng has a long history with the organisation. She completed an out-of-school programme through JA South Africa in 1994 before starting at JA South Africa as a data capturer. AD agency Penquin has appointed Veronica Wainstein MD; she has also acquired a majority shareholding in the company.

Co-founder Grant Leishman will take on a nonexecutive role while pursuing interests in the US, and fellow co-founder Darren Leishman will take on the role of CEO of sister company Spitfire Inbound Marketing.

Wainstein said: “While we have a new management structure in place, our clients can be assured of our continued high standards of service.

“We practise and implement everything that we preach and at Penquin it has always been about growing people organically and looking internally first for any promotion.” THE Special Investigating Unit has made some senior appointments. Nazreen Sekao Pandor is head of communications and stakeholder management, Leonard Lekgetho is projects director and Simangele Tshabalala is a senior forensic lawyer.

The SIU is an independent statutory body established to investigate and combat public sector corruption.

Pandor has a BA and an LLB and is a certified fraud examiner and qualified arbitrator. She is an admitted attorney of the high court of South Africa and has experience within the forensics environment and of managing stakeholder relations.

Lekgetho will provide strategic leadership to the entire business operation and oversee the development and delivery of programmes through programme and project managers and the project management office.

Tshabalala will provide appropriate quality, specialist and legal input. She will be involved in project management, thereby supporting a multi-disciplinary approach to all assignments within the SIU.
