HEALTHCARE management company Universal Healthcare has appointed Rhys Edwards as its chief sales and distribution officer.
Company CEO Johan Pretorius said Edwards had almost 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, where he had held senior leadership positions.
“Rhys will be responsible for key sales and distribution,” Pretorius said. “It is of great importance for the right person to head this high-growth operation.”
Edwards said he was looking forward to leading the sales and marketing teams. THE South African Nuclear Energy Corporation has made some senior appointments.
Hlengiwe Khumalo has been appointed group executive: corporate services; Monde Alvin Mondi is group senior manager: human resources; Mosa Rasweswe has been appointed group executive: nuclear compliance and services; and Ruby Ramatsui is senior executive manager: Pelindaba Enterprises.
Khumalo has experience in leadership positions in the private and public sectors and was the acting CEO and chief financial officer for the Construction Industry Development Board before joining Necsa.
She has a master of business leadership degree, a postgraduate diploma in business management, a BCom and a national diploma in internal auditing.
Mondi has worked as a human resources practitioner in the public sector, including in local government and at a parastatal.
He has a master’s degree in labour relations and human resource management, a bachelor of philosophy in value analysis and policy formulation and a BA.
Rasweswe joined Necsa in 1996 as a chemical engineering technician intern.
She started as a junior safeguards inspector in 2003 and progressed to senior inspector until she was promoted to head the National Nuclear Safeguards function in 2008.
Rasweswe is a member of the Safeguards Advisory Group, a group of international experts appointed by the directorgeneral of the International Atomic Energy Agency to advise the agency.
Ramatsui started his career in the project management of capital projects. He holds an MBA.
He worked as a project manager at Eskom, which paved his way to become a senior adviser.
Ramatsui joined the corporation as senior manager: strategic support and by 2013 had moved up the ranks to executive manager, strategy and performance.
