REINHER Behrens has been appointed CEO of the Franschhoek Wine Valley Tourism Authority.
Behrens has spent much of his working career in senior leadership positions at TBWA Hunt Lascaris, as CEO at Leo Burnett SA Group/Africa Network and McCann Worldwide Group SA, and recently as acting director for university relations at the University of Pretoria.
He has experience in marketing and brand management, reputation management and management leadership skills.

Wine Valley Tourism Authority said he would bring the appropriate balance of diplomatic capabilities and communication and strategic skills.
AIRLINE fastjet has appointed Sean Bradley general manager of sales.
He is based in Johannesburg and is responsible for developing, implementing and managing an effective sales strategy for fastjet across Africa.
Bradley will focus on managing sales teams in Tanzania, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Bradley joins fastjet from SAA, where he was global manager of trade and product support and global sales development.
He serves on South African Tourism’s National Convention Bureau subcommittee, and recently joined the Board of Airline Representatives
South Africa committee.
“Sean’s strong airline background and leadership skills make him the perfect fit for the role,” said fastjet CEO Nico Bezuidenhout.
THE South African National Roads Agency Limited has appointed Ismail Essa transformation manager; he will report to CEO Skhumbuzo Macozoma.
Essa, a civil engineer, has 36 years’ experience in the roads and civil engineering sector. He joined Sanral in 2001 as a senior project manager.
Within two years, he was promoted to regional manager for the northern region (Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and North West), a position he has held for the past 14 years.
Macozoma said: “The time to bolster government’s economic transformation priorities is now.
“One of Mr Essa’s immediate priorities will be to ensure subsector transformation across the supply value chain we deal with.”
PARATUS Telecom, the privately owned pan-African telecoms operator, has appointed Stefan de Bruin chief financial officer.
He will be responsible for the overall financial affairs of the group, which is represented in Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, South Africa and Angola.
He will focus on the financial evaluation of new telecom infrastructure projects in Africa and the formulation of funding methodology for these.
De Bruin was previously a senior manager for tax and legal services at PwC and financial director at Siemens Namibia. He is a nonexecutive board member of the Old Mutual Orion Namibia Pension and Provident Fund.
He was with Old Mutual Investment Group Property Investments and served as a
representative director of Oryx Properties as well as Oryx Management Services.
He was also chief financial officer and later CEO at Oryx Properties.
