Pigeon payouts? Just don’t tell the prez

HOGARTH does wonder, though, if No 1 has heard of a guy called Serge Belamant, the CPS CEO who behaves as if he is one of the lords of the Saxonwold shebeen.

Presidential aides should urgently bring it to the attention of their boss that this man — whose company makes billions out of government business — is so arrogant that he mocked the state, saying maybe it could deliver social grants by using pigeons to “you know . . . fly money around”.

Then again, maybe they shouldn’t. What if No 1 ends up believing that pigeons really are a viable option?
