When ideas dry up, rainmakers step up
JUST when you thought things couldn’t get worse in this republic, a small municipality in the Free State confirmed our status as a “funny democracy”.
The Maluti-a-Phofung municipality wants to honour Water Affairs Minister Nomvula Mokonyane and pastor Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng for “ending the drought” after the two held an event to pray for rain.
Mayor Vusi Tshabalala believes it was Motsoeneng’s prayers that brought rain to the drought-stricken areas. Perhaps God-Zille should give Mboro a call.
