DA adds new charge to Zille indictment
THE DA has added a fourth count to the charges against its erstwhile leader, Western Cape premier Helen Zille.
The charges announced earlier — stemming from her repeated positive comments about colonialism — concerned her allegedly bringing the party’s name into disrepute and publicly opposing its policies.
To this a fourth has now been added: that she acted in a manner that is unreasonable and detrimental to internal co-operation in the DA.
The panel that will preside over Zille’s hearing comprises MP Annelie Lotriet and municipal councillors Pogiso Monchusi and Hans-Jurie Moolman.
The prosecutor will be Glynnis Breytenbach, and Zille will have the right to legal representation.
The date of the hearing has yet to be decided by agreement among all parties.
