ANC has no ratings solution
THE article “Ratings downgrade has to be taken very, very seriously” (April 23) by Sango Ntsaluba highlights the effect of the downgrading of our sovereign debt.
It will seriously hinder our development, which should concern our politicians. The politics of the ANC has damaged our image and reputation as a reliable destination for foreign investment and, since the downgrade, the ANC has done little to remedy the matter.
In fact, its suggestion that it is some form of conspiracy ignores the opportunity to remedy the situation.
Our poorly performing economy and the plight of the unemployed are due in no small measure to the ruling party’s incompetence and corruption, which has a cancerous effect on service delivery. As a result, business has less appetite to risk capital for expanding growth.
Unfortunately, the ANC offers no solution, so matters will not improve under it. — Ted O’Connor, Albertskroon
