Maimane’s vendetta
I WRITE in support of Jeff van Belkum’s letter “Irresponsible of DA to join racist chorus” (April 23).
When Mmusi Maimane was elected DA leader I felt excited for the future of the party, but I was dismayed by his over-the-top reaction to Helen Zille’s comments about colonialism.
I believe all that was required of him was to publicly state, as he did, that he distanced himself from the comments and that they were not DA policy.
Instead, and with the eager help of the media, he has continued with what appears to be a vendetta against Zille based on the untruth that she defended colonialism.
