Put Malikane on a plane to Venezuela

-

I REFER to the columns by Jabu Mabuza, “No, professor, your ‘cure’ is a short cut to disaster for SA” (April 23) and Co-Pierre Georg, “Malema and Malikane brand of economics has gone Caracas” (April 23), in which they debunk the absolute nonsense that Christopher Malikane spews.

This man is more a professor of idiocy, sitting comfortably as an academic at the University of the Witwatersrand, out of touch with the real world and no doubt earning a huge salary with many benefits, which must now be supplemented as well by his advisory role to Gigaba.

It is easy to propagate failed economic policies that won’t affect you personally and that have been an abject failure all over the world, bringing untold misery, bankruptcy and pain to all the countries that have followed this path.

He slots in so easily with the current crop of dishonest, compromised and inept ANC leadership.

We even have ministers who welcomed the downgrade! Of course, it doesn’t affect them personally.

They will continue earning their blood-sucking millions from the South African taxpayer and, at the same time, continue with their hollow slogans about “we are for the people”.

Walk the talk and see how the real world works.

Put Malikane on a plane, with a one-way ticket to Cuba or Venezuela, so that he can live the failed dream for himself.

Gigaba’s reputation is already very dubious and compromised at best, and surrounding himself with such an idiotic adviser does him no favours. Who would ever take him seriously? — Sergio, Cape Town
