WEBBER Wentzel has appointed Mark Kyle a partner in the firm. He joins from the corporate and investment banking team at Standard Bank South Africa and specialise­s in loan finance and debt restructur­ing work.

Before Standard Bank, Kyle worked in London at Webber Wentzel’s alliance partner, Linklaters, later returning to South Africa to be appointed a director at Norton Rose (then Deneys Reitz).

He has a BA and an LLB from Stellenbos­ch University.

“We are delighted that Mark will be joining Webber Wentzel,” said senior partner Christo Els.

“He is very experience­d and respected.

“He will not only bring his exceptiona­l expertise to the firm, but also his knowledge of working within the financial services sector.”

BLUE Label has appointed Wayne McCauley as chief operating officer for South Africa, based in Johannesbu­rg.

He has BCom and MBL degrees, and recently completed a Leading the Business programme at Oxford University.

McCauley will be responsibl­e for developing, implementi­ng and managing corporate and business strategies.

“We welcome Wayne to our rapidly expanding South African business operations,” said joint CEOs Mark and Brett Levy.

“His solid track record, based on results and performanc­e achievemen­ts across Africa and the US, will add new insights and energy to our numerous product and service brands.”

McCauley joins the group after nearly 30 years at SABMiller, most recently as sales and distributi­on director.

A NEW MD is to head the Sandton office of advertisin­g agency The MediaShop: Kgaugelo Maphai.

“We’ve been looking for the right candidate for quite some time now to head our Johannesbu­rg office and to take on additional management responsibi­lities,” said group MD Chris Botha. “We all agree that Kgaugelo is the right man for the job.”

The new MD is an entreprene­ur with experience in marketing, media and communicat­ions, within the client, media owner and agency working environmen­ts.

He has been group marketing services manager at Peermont Global and national trade marketing manager at SABC radio, and has consulted advertisin­g agencies such as FCB.

CHRIS Booyens has been appointed the Dawn Group’s chief financial officer and financial director.

Dawn manufactur­es and distribute­s branded hardware, sanitarywa­re, plumbing, kitchen, engineerin­g and civil products.

Booyens is the former group financial director of Iliad Africa and Harmony Gold. He has held financial executive roles in Tiger Brands subsidiari­es and was a director at The Cold Chain, Enterprise Foods and Adcock Ingram. He is a qualified chartered accountant.

CEO Edwin Hewitt said: “We welcome Chris onto the board and look forward to harnessing his experience and expertise to further the exciting goals and objectives we have for the company. With strong leadership and the calibre of an individual such as Chris on board, we can continue to build on the restructur­ing progress.”
