Runs in the (blended) family
ALTHOUGH not biologically related, Koketso Choma and her stepfather, Eskom executive Matshela Koko, seem to suffer from the same memory-loss problem.
Miss Choma was with Impulse International, which benefited to the tune of a billion rand from contracts with Eskom during the short time she was with the company and while Mr Koko was in charge of the generation division at Eskom, which issued the contracts.
Last December she was paid R16-million by Impulse International, but could not recollect receiving such an amount when recently questioned about this.
Last year Mr Koko was unable to remember signing a coal-supply contract in favour of the Guptas’ Tegeta Exploration and Resources that had a clause in it giving them more than half a billion rand upfront. — Colin Currell, Bryanston
