On April 24, 26-year-old Baxter Reid was arrested on the US/Canadian border. He has a valid B1/B2 five-year visa, which requires him to leave the country every six months. Reid had crossed into Canada just before the visa expired at midnight but Canadian authorities held him and then sent him back to the US about 90 minutes later, where he was arrested for overstaying his visa.
He was held at the Buffalo Federal Detention Centre in New York until a judge granted his release last week.
