MATTERS OF FACT
The Ask Andrew column of May 28 incorrectly advised that British-passport holders do not need a visa to enter Australia. In fact, they do. According to gov.uk, British-passport holders who wish to enter Australia can apply for an e-visitor visa (subclass 651) direct from the Department of Immigration & Border Protection. Go to border.gov.au and follow the prompts for “individuals and travellers”. There is no fee for this. Alternatively, you can apply for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) via your travel agent or airline. A service fee of A$20 applies. British-passport holders don’t need visas for New Zealand.
