Letters LOVING THE NEW LOOK

- Write to lifestyle@sundaytimes.co.za

Well done on the fabulous new look. Love, love it! Travel deserves a special mention. Kudos all round. — Mel Harris Contrary to your editorial note, Lifestyle is not fully consumed on a Sunday in my little world. It stays on the dining room table for TV schedules and reading tidbits during the week. A non-irritating (non-abrasive?) pic or subject should be on the front cover. June 25th’s was just fine, June 18th’s was maybe OK, June 11th’s became very irritating by June 12, June 4th’s was interesting and May 28th’s quite acceptable. — Eddie du Plessis Congratulations on your new Sunday Times, it is great. My suggestion for a further improvement would be to have a weekly movie review and summary of what is showing . — Sandra Levitas Please, have visible numbering of pages. Also, 72 pages in one paper is too heavy and awkward to hold and read comfortably. Could the magazine not, like the main section, be divided into two sections? I usually have to “divide” the paper but then articles may be partly in one section and partly in the other. It would also make it easier to share around the family to have sections instead of one person impatiently waiting for another to read the magazine. — VA Badenhorst Paged through your paper. Found it hard to find articles to read. The adverts overwhelm the articles. The paper feels like I am scrolling down Facebook. — Anne van Rooyen The Lifestyle section adds a fab side note on reading times, words and stats that works well for the reader’s interest. Huge congrats to the newspaper and team on the revamp. The article that stood out was the DNA Diet and definitely made for an interesting read as I love learning about humans and our genes and biology. The article contained this line: “It may sound futuristic but don’t be surprised if your healthcare practitioner mentions nutri- and pharmacogenetics at your next checkup.” New words added to my vocab! — Kelly Matthee What a surprising change, all for the better! So much to read and something for everyone, even the kids. Topics are well grouped so that more of us may share the paper at the same time. — Ilse Morgan Given that we Homo sapiens resist change, I am sure you will be inundated with negative comments. I am not at all unhappy with the changes made — although the jury is still out on the new “Jozi” font, but I guess it’s a case of getting used to it. Well done. — Lucille Byrnes SETTING THE SCENE The piece on the art of relaxation and contentment (hygge) as practised by the Danes in the Lifestyle of June 25 was a good read. I’ve always enjoyed surrounding my space with relaxing accoutrements and soft jazz music when having “me” time. — Matome Mokgoloboto
