Although the ANC’s top brass topped the news early in the week with their move against “rebels” who said they would vote against President Jacob Zuma in parliament, it was left to Grace Mugabe to set the agenda, after she allegedly attacked local model Gabriella Engels with an extension cord, in a row over Mugabe’s sons, who live the high life in Sandton. “Bulldog” former prosecutor Gerrie Nel took up the case as Grace gave SA police the runaround.

Deputy Higher Education Minister Mduduzi Manana finally quit yesterday, after admitting to assaulting two women at a nightclub. Earlier, Manana was dropped as a speaker at a student dialogue on genderbased violence, at the University of Venda. Police Minister Fikile Mbalula told a gathering on gender-based violence that people shouldn’t withdraw gender-based charges they had laid at police stations.

Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi had his hands full again after a video of school kids fighting at Norkem Park High School in Kempton Park went viral. The school suspended 12 pupils.
