Bogus doctors nabbed
Three bogus doctors will appear in court after a raid on their Ekurhuleni premises, where they issued medical certificates to unfit drivers applying for professional driver permits. They face charges of impersonating a doctor and practising medicine unlawfully. A fourth person arrested is the doctor whose practice number was used to conduct the allegedly fraudulent business. Bogus doctors can earn up to R8 000 a day issuing medical certificates without subjecting drivers to a medical examination, the Road Traffic Management Corporation said.
