-

Park Village Auctions will sell two Learjet 55’s, ZS-ELI and ZS-ELJ, by public auction at Lanseria airport on Wednesday October 25 at 12pm.

Roy Lazarus of PVA says the sale will appeal to those involved in charter and air medical services alike.

ZS-ELI is a 1983 Learjet 55 powered by two Honeywell TFE 731 engines. With a range of 1 600 nautical miles (3 000km) the Learjet series is renowned for its fuel efficiency, speed and strength.

While the aircraft is currently configured 7/2 for passenger charter services, the sale includes various Spectrum stretcher beds, allowing for the aircraft to be reconfigured for medical air rescue if required.

This particular aircraft has a long-range capability due to its cruise speed of Mach .78 (440knots/800km/h) and does the flight leg from Lanseria to Malta in 12 hours with two stops, or Mauritius, Kinshasa, Entebbe or Nairobi direct with five passengers.

The ZS-ELI is fully certified for charter operations and is fitted with the latest version of the mandated Traffic Collision Avoidance System as well as digital flight data and cockpit voice recorder.

The second aircraft, ZS-ELJ, will be sold as an airframe only which still contains many useful spare parts to keep operating costs down.

Included in the auction as separate lots are a Honeywell TFE731 engine, an assortment of serviceable and unserviceable avionics, radios, and general aircraft spares.

Bidders can participate via PVA’s online bidding system or attend the auction in person at Hangar 202, Gate No 7, Lanseria Airport.

Viewing can be arranged by appointment with Jack on 082 556 6853.
