Taking no prisoners
Tuesday will likely see fur fly in the parliamentary portfolio committee on police when minister Fikile Mbalula is due to brief the committee on the latest crime statistics.
Mbalula has been making the news lately by issuing what many regard as uncouth threats of violence against crime suspects, and telling police to pay scant regard to the law when acting against such suspects.
The political temperature in the room will be heightened by the redeployment of aggressive DA MP Dianne Kohler Barnard to her favourite committee.
