Bid to break stalemate

Parliament’s efforts to resolve a looming social grants crisis continue this week when the spotlight turns to President Jacob Zuma’s interminis­terial committee.

The committee, chaired by Zuma, has been called to a meeting by the standing committee on public accounts at which it is expected to table a plan to resolve the impasse between the South African Social Security Agency and the South African Post Office. The committee includes Social Developmen­t Minister Bathabile Dlamini and Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba. THE ONE TO WATCH
