Hidetoshi Kaneko has recently been appointed MD of Panasonic South Africa. He is the former vice-president of the Panasonic Corporation of North America.
He has restructured Panasonic’s departments to maximise efficiency, implemented a membership programme and revised the marketing strategy. Airports Company South Africa has appointed Fundi Sithebe as chief operating officer. She is currently the chief of staff reporting to Acsa CEO Bongani Maseko.
Maseko said: “Fundi has a wealth of experience.”
Sithebe said she would try to create a sustainable legacy for the company and South Africa.
Kumba has appointed Mary Bomela and Nomalizo LangaRoyds as independent nonexecutive directors.
Bomela is CEO of the Mineworkers Investment Company and served on the board of Sishen Iron Ore, a subsidiary of Kumba Iron Ore, from 2013 until last month. She is a member of various boards, including Primedia, FirstRand and Metrofile Holdings.
Langa-Royds is the founder of Nthake Consultant and an executive director of Greenleaf Centre for Servant Leadership. She also serves as a nonexecutive director on various boards, including Murray & Roberts, Mpact and Redefine Properties. LangaRoyds has bachelor degrees in law and the arts.
