Precocious ‘puppet’

-

The further one reads, the more the book’s main intention is revealed: McBuffalo is a product of an elaborate plan by mining companies to take over the ANC from within by deploying their “puppet” as its president. If McKenzie is to be believed, this plan would have started in the 1970s when Ramaphosa was still at school. In other words, the mining bosses had such great insight that they let him organise a debilitating mineworkers’ strike in 1987 because they knew this would help him take over power by having him as president of the ANC in 2017? McKenzie and his handlers must be smoking something really potent.
