Busy Trev switches to slow gear, island-style
● This has been a great year for Trevor Noah and, to top it off, he is seeing in the new one with girlfriend Jordyn Taylor in balmy Bali.
Instagram posts showed the two enjoying this Indonesian island’s stunning scenery and amazing food.
In September The Daily Show host won his first Emmy for his YouTube comedy special. Noah’s record includes one of the last White House interviews with former US president Barack Obama. He notched his most-watched week in May, attracting more than one million viewers.
Born a Crime, his humorous and heartbreaking account of growing up poor in South Africa, was a bestseller.
Although Noah has conquered the US, The Daily Show host has been quick to remind Americans that his roots are firmly in South Africa.
When one critic described him as “Hollywood elitist”, he wielded his famous wit to set the record straight.
Noah was questioned about being “biased” like other “Hollywood elitists”.
He retorted: “I’m from Soweto, not Hollywood.”
