Cabinet’s where we keep candles

Blade Nzimande, the former minister of higher education, took to Facebook to complain about electricity outages in his home town of Pietermaritzburg.

“Cdes and friends, who can help us to reach Msunduzi Municipality Call Centre to report electricity faults in Mkondeni area? We have been calling for the last 40 mins with no one picking up the phone. It is irresponsible of our ANC-run municipality to fail to even pick up the phone. We dare not take our people for granted,” he plaintively griped.

Back in the day, Nzimande could have easily phoned a municipal officially directly to have the power restored.

It’s really cold outside No 1’s cabinet.
